Boyz II Men & Harmony Wines: The Perfect Pairing

2021 is a touchstone year for powerhouse R&B vocal group Boyz II Men. The trio is celebrating thirty years since the release of their hit debut album Cooleyhighharmony. The group is also gearing up to head back to Las Vegas to take the stage for their long-standing residency. Additionally, the vocal powerhouses have been taking on a new venture – the wine world. They have launched Harmony Wines, a true passion project.

In 1991, Boyz II Men exploded onto the music scene with their debut single, “Motownphilly.” The song, produced by Michael Bivins of Bell Biv Devoe, skyrocketed up both the R&B and pop charts. The group also had a huge hit with the follow-up single off of Cooleyhighharmony, “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday.” The group reflects, “It is really incredible to think we’ll be celebrating our 30th anniversary this year. We’re so humbled and grateful for our fans who have given us the support from day one to help us get to where we are today.”

Following their debut album, Boyz II Men’s single “End of the Road” from the movie Boomerang’s soundtrack solidified the group as mainstream pop music mainstays. Their sophomore album II included the hits “On Bended Knee,” “Water Runs Dry,” and the group’s signature ballad, “I’ll Make Love To You.” The vocal powerhouses also dueted with the iconic Mariah Carey on one of the longest-running number-one songs on the Billboard music charts, “One Sweet Day.” The album II won the group a Grammy Award for Best R&B album in 1995.

Boyz II Men continued to tour and create music following their success in the 1990s; however, the group’s latest venture is that for the 21 plus crowd- they have launched their own wine line. They shared, “creating Harmony Wines is truly a passion project for us. We all appreciate a good glass of wine to celebrate a show, tour, or special occasion so it was a natural fit.”

The singers dove deep into the winemaking process and opted to head to a particular country – known for notable wines. “We’ve traveled across the world and enjoyed some of the finest wine. France always has a special place in our hearts and is known for winemaking, so what better place to create our own label,” they shared. “We collaborated with Château Auguste in Bordeaux, France, to create a red, white, and rose,” they offered. The group sought to blend their music skills with the craftsmanship of winemaking. “We used a practice called Genomics, based on the science that music boosts the natural immunity of the vines and helps create an authentic wine without additives or pesticides,” they said.

Boyz II Men crafted their wines the same way they created their hits – for their fans. They shared,

“We had the chance to figure out what we wanted for our brand, and ultimately, we made it for the fans.” The R&B icons also enlist their hits while making and bottling Harmony Wines. They gushed, “at the vineyard, music, occasionally with one of the most recognizable lines ‘pour the wine, light the fire’ from ‘I’ll Make Love to You,’ is played twice a day.” The group found the whole process “extremely rewarding,” and they look forward to sharing the wines with those who matter most – the fans.

As the new normal begins in 2021, Boyz II Men is ready to do what they do best – sing and tour. This time, the R&B groups harmonizing will be perfectly paired with a new touring partner and fan-favorite- Harmony Wines.
