Nevada Ballet Theatre Honors Debbie Gibson As Upcoming Woman of the Year
Acclaimed global pop icon, singer, songwriter, and actress Debbie Gibson has been named Nevada Ballet Theatre’s “Woman of the Year.” The honor will be bestowed during NBT’s annual Black and White Ball in March 2025, benefiting the ballet and celebrating Gibson’s significant contributions to the arts.
A resident of Las Vegas for 15 years, Gibson has been deeply involved in supporting youth in the arts, particularly in dance, performance, and music.
“It’s such a prestigious honor,” says Gibson. “Because I’m on tour so much, I’m always happy to return here. This community is incredible, and being recognized at this stage of my life and career feels like a special moment to kick off whatever comes next.”
Gibson first rose to fame with her chart-topping single, “Foolish Beat,” making her the youngest artist to write, produce, and perform a #1 Billboard Hot 100 hit. Over the years, she has showcased her versatility by starring in more than 15 stage musicals, including Grease and Les Misérables, as well as appearing on popular international TV shows.
Las Vegas holds a special place in Gibson’s heart, inspiring her as both an artist and performer.
“I draw so much energy from the incredible entertainers in this city and the fans who’ve supported me throughout my journey,” she says. “For me, it’s all about the connection—performing live in a room full of people, feeding off that energy. That’s what drives everything I do.”
As for the upcoming gala, the ever-stylish Gibson teases her excitement for the event’s fashion and philanthropy, hinting at the possibility of a surprise musical performance. “I can’t wait to take in the love and energy from everyone attending—and to see what they wear!” she exclaims.
Looking ahead, fans can expect exciting new projects from Gibson, including fresh music and a memoir published by Gallery Books. The memoir will chronicle her life and career, offering insight into the entertainment industry and aiming to inspire readers.
“I’m in a rebuilding chapter of my career,” Gibson shares. “Touring has been amazing, and going international—like my recent trip to Asia—has been a dream. Right now, I’m more present than I’ve ever been, really savoring every moment. When I was younger, it was all such a whirlwind, but now I can fully take it all in.”
For Gibson, the journey is far from over. With new music, international tours, and a memoir on the horizon, she continues to shine as a dynamic force in the entertainment world.
