Hospitality Spotlight: Joessy Torres
With over 15 years of experience, Joessy Torres is a true leader and veteran in the world of hospitality.
Seeking a fresh start, she relocated from Brooklyn, New York to Miami, Florida in 2008 with a background in code enforcement. Thanks to a serendipitous encounter, Torres would soon take on an entry-level role with table-top designer and manufacturer Front of the House® Worldwide, gradually working her way up to become a product development specialist and supervisor.
Her journey took an exciting turn when she was presented with the opportunity to contribute to the launch of FOH®’s new venture, room360®, a solution for stylish guest room and bathroom accessories. Torres and her team would launch 13 new collections, including the New York-inspired Tribeca bath accessories. This was a pivotal moment in her career, and it marked the beginning of an extraordinary transformation.
“Stepping into the hospitality industry was overwhelming – but also unbelievably exciting,” Torres shares. “Nearly 16 years later, I still look back on my early challenges as the start of a truly incredible journey.”
In her current role as Partnerships Manager, Joessy Torres excels at building connections and fostering meaningful relationships. She finds immense fulfillment in being part of a larger community and values the unique opportunities her role offers. Learning alongside FOH®’s partners has enriched her both personally and professionally, providing a platform for growth and development.
Looking ahead, Torres envisions herself as an authoritative figure in the domain of hospitality, someone her peers can turn to for insights, innovative ideas, and strategic advice. She is committed to deepening her understanding of the industry and staying connected with like-minded individuals who share her passion for the industry.
“Stepping out of my comfort zone has become second nature,” says Torres. “I draw inspiration from FOH®’s remarkable story—a company powered by women, minorities, and creators of unique beauty – and my ultimate hope is to pass on the lessons I’ve learned here to my daughter.”
Outside of her professional life, Torres values quality time spent with loved ones, often over good food and wine. An avid explorer of wineries, she recently completed her second certification with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, an experience that has opened her eyes to wine’s wide variety of flavors. She also has a penchant for collecting beautiful home decorations which reflect her appreciation for the aesthetic aspects of life.
“I do my best to approach everything with intention and gratitude,” she says with a smile. “I just can’t say no to quality bottles of wine and beautiful decorations for my home.”
Joessy Torres’ remarkable journey in the hospitality industry continues to inspire and enrich the lives of those around her. Her passion for growth and connection is bound to propel her to new heights in the years to come.
