Mikalah Gordon: A Girl On Fire With New Podcast & Live Performances
Mikalah Gordon, a Las Vegas native, is a multi-hyphenate talent—the stunning beauty can be listed as a Singer, Comedienne, Radio Host, and now, Podcast Creator on her roster of career accomplishments. Her talents span the entertainment capital, with residencies at Delilah at the Wynn on Friday nights starting at 9 pm and the Nowhere Lounge at Fontainebleau Hotel Tuesday through Thursday starting at 8 pm. In addition, she can be heard every weekday morning from 6 am to 10 am as a co-host on the popular “Chet Buchanan Show” on 98.5 KLUC.
Gordon is also expanding on her existing venture, the podcast “So Funny It Hurts,” as it was recently picked up by Audacy. It will soon be recorded featuring a live audience for Season 2, adding a new level of excitement. Gordon says it will continue to showcase the local comedy scene, blending her own comedic roots with her love for hosting.
Growing up in Las Vegas, Gordon’s passion for music began early. Inspired by the Las Vegas Strip’s energy, the glamorous showgirls, and her musician father, she recalls, “I love all music. My heart loves jazz because that’s what I grew up with, and it’s definitely nostalgic for me.”
Her connection to radio also started young. Gordon fondly remembers listening to local talk shows, never imagining she’d be co-hosting one of the city’s most popular programs one day. Music was always central to her life, and after years of performing all over the Strip, her big break came at age sixteen as a finalist on “American Idol.” That exposure launched her career, leading to opportunities like co-starring in the sitcom “Living With Fran” alongside comedienne Fran Drescher.
As Gordon reflects on her career, she emphasizes the importance of being multifaceted in the entertainment industry. This philosophy led her to pursue both comedy and hosting, expanding her horizons beyond music.
On a personal note, Gordon recently became engaged to her partner of nearly a decade, DJ Lisa Pittman. The proposal was intimate, taking place at home, and Gordon describes the moment as “perfect.” The couple is enjoying their engagement with plans for a wedding in the near future.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Gordon is also dedicated to philanthropy. She frequently performs at local charity events and will be performing at an upcoming benefit for the Shade Tree organization on October 10. The organization provides support to local women, children, and families in need—a cause close to her heart.
