Music & Performing with Christina Amato

“I’ve always been interested in singing from birth. There was never an option B for me.” Amato expresses her gratitude to her father, Tommy Amato, for always surrounding her with the creative process of music-making.

“My father was the drummer for Bobby Darin in the ’70s. He’s also played with the Allman Brothers Band and Donna Summer,” she explains. Amato illustrates her experience with her father as a child, “He normalized the music business and entertainment. Our home was always a revolving door of professional musicians. I would sit in on their rehearsals and watch them work through songs from the beginning to the finished piece.”

Amato recounts the start of her singing career, “Zowie Bowie was my first professional show in Vegas eight years ago. I love working with Chris Phillips, lead singer of Zowie Bowie.” Amato’s long career has been full of live performances. She played the Purple Rain show’s Apollonia character every Monday and Tuesday in Las Vegas. The Christina Amato Band formerly played at Park MGM every Friday and Saturday, and Amato also performed with Zowie Bowie on Thursdays. Amato mentions, “I am always working on my original music. Last year, I released many singles that I am really proud of, and this year I want to release another full album.”

Amato and Zowie Bowie performed on New Year’s Eve 2021 at the Circa Hotel and Casino. Initially, they expected to play for a live TV audience at Circa Hotel and Casino. Their performance was broadcast on television and visible to guests from their hotel rooms. Christina Amato looks forward to continuing to sing and record as she plans future performances across the country.
