Icons of Miami: Aileen Guillen

When it comes to finance, Aileen Guillen and The Tax Team are a one-stop shop.

Originally from Miami, Guillen’s journey began with a degree in finance from St. Thomas University, setting the foundation for a promising career. She started as a personal banker at JP Morgan Chase, an experience that provided her with valuable knowledge of the financial world. Her role involved assisting clients with their banking needs and helping them navigate the complexities of personal finance.

“The desire to make finance more accessible and comprehensible to people has always been a driving force in my career,” says Guillen.

Guillen became the CEO of The Tax Team, a firm committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences, in 2014. Since then, she and her team have created a line of products designed to empower clients in their financial decisions, setting them apart from other firms.

What truly stands out in Guillen’s journey is her passion for educating and empowering others in the realm of finance. She enjoys helping people understand the intricacies of this complex world, a topic often left untaught in schools due to its ever-changing rules and concepts.

When asked about her sources of inspiration, Aileen points to her parents and a personal desire for continuous growth and improvement. Her parents have played a pivotal role in shaping her values and work ethic, motivating them to strive for success.

“My parents taught me the importance of working hard and striving to enhance one’s skills and expertise,” says Guillen. “I am forever grateful for that.”

Looking to the future, Guillen envisions herself in a more advanced and accomplished position within the finance field. She aims to continue learning, seizing opportunities, and contributing to her community and profession.

Outside of her career, Aileen enjoys quality time with family and friends. She has a penchant for savoring fine dining experiences at exceptional restaurants, often complemented by a bottle of fine wine. This reflects her appreciation for life beyond the world of finance, embracing the joy of shared moments with loved ones.

Aileen Guillen’s inspiring journey reminds us that finance is not just about numbers and transactions; it’s about helping people and continually improving ourselves.
