Joelle Jarvis: The Power of Purpose
For Joelle Jarvis, an ambitious vision carries a practical obligation: build the relationships, systems, and structures that bring it to
“Across philanthropy, leadership, and entrepreneurship, I know our work reflects a consistent belief that compassion achieves its greatest value through action.”
As a co-founder of the 100 Billion Meals Challenge, Jarvis helps translate an extraordinary goal into partnerships and measurable results. Launched by Tony Robbins and former World Food Programme Executive Director David Beasley, the initiative brings together philanthropic leaders, corporations, and community organizations to address hunger at a global scale.
Jarvis helped introduce the Challenge at the Forbes 400 Philanthropy Summit and a Giving Pledge dinner, placing its mission before some of the world’s most influential philanthropic leaders. The Challenge reports that it has powered more than 92 billion meals across six continents in under four years.
Behind those numbers is the detailed work of aligning organizations, developing partnerships, and creating sustainable pathways for food to reach people. Jarvis has helped shape relationships across retail, nutrition, faith-based distribution, and disaster relief, connecting resources with organizations equipped to serve their communities.

Her work alongside Robbins spans 34 years, including roles as a participant, coach, facilitator, and master trainer. That longstanding relationship now informs her contribution to one of his most ambitious philanthropic undertakings.
Through her board position at the Los Angeles Dream Center, Jarvis also helped develop an alliance that enables smaller community organizations to operate food programs beyond what they could establish independently. Her focus is on expanding their capacity while supporting the local relationships that make their service effective.
That commitment has roots in her earlier humanitarian work. Following Hurricane Katrina, Jarvis co-founded Core of Compassion to help displaced families rebuild their lives. The organization’s case management work earned community recognition and a commendation from the United States Congress, reinforcing her belief that meaningful service requires both empathy and organized follow-through.
Music offers another avenue for advancing the hunger mission. The Next Verse, a campaign associated with the 100 Billion Meals Challenge, brings together the vision of Robbins and Grammy-winning producer Jimmy Jam. Jarvis has helped develop its artist outreach, partnership structure, and participatory concept.
The campaign invites creators, choirs, classrooms, and fans to contribute a verse, hook, or harmony, giving people a personal way to participate in a shared cause. Its approach reflects Jarvis’s interest in building initiatives that people can help shape and sustain.
Her commitment to participation also informs Life Lounge, the membership platform she created with partner Symone Prince. Through her coaching practice, Jarvis recognized that professional advancement can leave women with fewer places to express uncertainty openly. Leaders expected to project confidence still need room to ask difficult questions, examine decisions, and seek support.
Life Lounge provides that space through live programming and a faculty of seven practitioners. Jarvis deliberately built its structure around shared expertise, allowing the platform’s value to extend beyond her own calendar and making professional guidance more accessible.
As founder of The Mindset Partnership, she advises venture capital partners and founders at firms representing more than $250 billion in combined assets under management. Her coaching addresses judgment, conviction, and partnership dynamics, the human factors that influence investment decisions and company growth.
She calls her philosophy “confrontational compassion,” using candor in service of another person’s stated goals. Her forthcoming book, Now What? Stop Shaking Your Fist at Reality and Start Living Your Life, extends that perspective to the choices people make when faced with challenging circumstances.
Jarvis is quick to credit the collaborators who make this work possible. Her own contribution is a willingness to take ambitious goals literally, understand what they demand, and keep building until the vision becomes something people can experience.
That is the thread connecting her work: a belief in human possibility, supported by the discipline to turn it into lasting impact.
